The known results about unitarity violation in QED are revised. Taking into account the peripheral processes in high energy ions collisions with production of arbitrary number of pairs of charged leptons and pions, we confirm the known result about violation of unitarity in frames of QED. Namely the total cross section of production of an arbitrary number of pairs of charged particles grow more rapidly than any power of logarithm of the center-of-mass energy. Contribution from production of a single neutral meson (scalar and pseudo-scalar) is discussed. An interpretation of this fact is expected to have the similar base as the QED problem — the absence of the total cross section in scattering of a charged particle on the Coulomb centrum. The relevant conditions cannot be realized in the Nature. Explicit expressions for production of a finite number of pairs cross sections are presented.Volkov, M. Within the on-shell renormalization scheme, two-loop electroweak corrections to the parityviolating polarization asymmetry in the reaction e (−) e (−) → e (−) e (−)(γ, γγ) were estimated for the MOLLER experiment at JLab. The infrared divergence and the imaginary part of the amplitude were taken completely under control. Relevant compact expressions obtained by using asymptotic methods are free from unphysical parameters and are convenient for analysis and for numerical estimations. The questions of how a dipole character of the dependence of the form factors G_E and G_M on the square of the momentum transfer to a proton, Q^2, arise and why a violation of this dependence occurs, are investigated. The answers to these questions could be obtained owing to the use of the simplest QCD concepts of the proton structure and the results obtained by calculating the matrix elements of the proton current in the case of non-spin-flip and spin-flip transitions for protons in diagonal spin basis (DSB), where the little group of Lorentz group (little Wigner group) common to the initial and final proton states is being realized. In DSB, the matrix elements of the proton current in the cases of non-spin-flip and spin-flip transitions for protons are determined by the form factors G_E and G_M. In considering the problem in question at the quark level, use is made of the model where the proton consists of three point-like quarks having identical masses and where the respective matrix element of the proton current is the product of three quark-current amplitudes. It is shown that the dipole dependence arises if the proton spin-flip is due to spin-flip for only one of the three quarks. Numerical predictions for the cross-sections of these processes are received for the center-of-mass energies below 2 GeV. The paper investigates contributions of $Z$, $W$ and $\gamma$ intermediate states to the parity-violating Moller scattering asymmetry up to two-loop level. Using the Yennie--Frautschi--Suura factorization form for amplitudes, we demonstrate that QED corrections, with an exception of vacuum-polarization effects, cancel at the asymmetry level. We obtain chiral amplitudes at Born, one-loop and partially at two-loop level: boxes with lepton self-energies, ladder boxes and decorated boxes. Our calculations are relevant for the ultra-precise 11 GeV MOLLER experiment planned at Jefferson Laboratory and future ILC experiments. Charge-odd correlation of the charged pair components produced at electron-proton scattering can measure three current correlation averaged by proton state. In general these type correlation can be described by 14 structure functions. We restrict here by consideration of inclusive distributions of a pair components, which is the light-cone projection of the relevant hadronic tensor. Besides we consider the point-like approximation for proton and pion.
